MIDI DRESS WITH LEGO-EFFECT BODICE

The “Midi Dress with Lego-Effect Bodice” originates from a project by ALBACHIARA exploring the combination of material experimentation and superior tailoring. The garment pairs a structured, rounded skirt with a three-dimensional bodice created using the innovative “Lego” technique, showcasing the synergy among the various group’s companies.

The skirt is made from an exclusive fabric developed by BESTE Textile Division, composed of double duchess organic silk and ITACO cotton. This cotton comes from a fully integrated, vertically controlled supply chain by BESTE, overseeing the entire process — from cultivation in Puglia to spinning and weaving — ensuring traceability and uncompromised quality. The combination of these two materials gives the skirt volume, roundness, and shape retention, enhancing the garment’s silhouette.

The bodice is constructed from modular “Lego” elements, crafted from selected GAB calf leathers, paired in two colors, and die-cut with precision by FUSTELLIFICIO TOSCANO. These four-point geometric elements are entirely hand-assembled by RILIEVI, which interlocks them without stitching to create three-dimensional panels used to shape the garment directly on the mannequin.

The result is a dress with a strong sculptural and artisanal character, where the materiality of leather and the softness of fabric merge in a harmonious balance of volume and texture. It stands as an example of research, innovation, and mastery, transforming experimentation into a refined, contemporary aesthetic language.
