LEGO-EFFECT CLOGS
DEMA
Footwear
The “Lego-Effect Clogs” represent a study in material and structural experimentation, in which the upper becomes a genuinely three-dimensional, modular element. The project originates from the desire to apply the “Lego” technique, developed for garments, to artisanal footwear, exploring its aesthetic and structural potential.
The base of the model is made from abrasivated calf leather supplied by GAB, chosen for its compactness, luminosity, and surface resistance. Once the pattern is defined by DEMA, the upper shape is sent to RILIEVI, where the “Lego” elements, die-cut by FUSTELLIFICIO TOSCANO and produced by GAB through two-color leather lamination, are both manually applied and assembled.
Each module is manually interlocked with the next, forming a three-dimensional, volumetric panel that becomes the structural core of the upper. The completed panels are then mounted by DEMA again onto the last, resulting in an architectural, pointed-toe with strong material and visual impact.
The result is a sculptural, sophisticated shoe that blends innovation, craftsmanship, and contemporary design, demonstrating the synergy between the Group’s different competencies and its ability to translate material research into an aesthetic language.
